Route instructions checking

Stage 8   Dedham to Bradfield    We have walked this stage, and have several alterations to the trail sheets. Who do we send the alterations to?

Re: Route instructions checking

Roy Fleming and I ran stage 8 this morning. Everything is fine. On the day there will be marshals at the critical points, but in the main we are relying on people using the trail sheets and looking out for the small red and white Essex Way markers.

Have a good day on September 5th!

Regards,

Dave Godfrey

Re: Route instructions checking

A number of our club member live in and around Manningtree, part of stage 8, they have mentioned to me that Sunday, the day of the race, is the annual regatta. This means that the road between Jewson's and Mistley walls will be very congested with people. It is a narrow length of road which runs parallel, with and behind the high street. In the early days of the EW we used run along the high street and I don’t know if it is worth considering using the old route to avoid the crowds. The part I refer to is number 11 in the stage description.
If it is decided not to use the alternative maybe a warning should be announced at the start of the leg.
